According to sources, five Montreal players are dealing with a stomach bug: forwards Lina Ljungblom, Maureen Murphy and Skylar Irving, along with defenders Nicole Gosling and Kati Tabin.
No players from Minnesota are reportedly affected.
The reserve players — along with Jade Downie-Landry, who was not originally expected to play tonight — were ready to suit up.
That means Tamara Gianquinto and Nadia Mattivi could have filled in on defense, while Maya Labad and JDL could have replaced two of the three absent forwards.
In other words, Montreal still had enough healthy players to ice a lineup of 12 forwards and six defenders.
