Oh and I forgot to mention the best thing. If FIP16 passes and you are both a FLR and XRP holder then by using your XRP on Flare you are directly benefiting your FLR.
1. Why not ask the question the other way around first? 2. FXRP is non custodial. WXRP is custodial. 3. You are not a client of Hex (the custodian) so you canโ€™t mint or redeem WXRP. This is a huge UX challenge that will be hard to overcome. You are going to have to end up buying it on a dex. 4. Flare Smart Accounts on the other hand mean that you donโ€™t even need to leave XRP environments to use FXRP on other chains. 5. Flare has the most wallet integrations that support both XRP and Flare. 6. In the next version of FXRP anyone holding XRP on an exchange will be able to mint and redeem FXRP directly from that exchange. HUGE! In short FXRP has distribution channels that are pretty hard to compete with. 7. Flareโ€™s ecosystem has the most liquidity and capital available for any version of bridged XRP. 8. Flareโ€™s ecosystem has the most applications available for any version of bridged XRP. 9. Flareโ€™s ecosystem has the most builders dedicated to any version of bridged XRP. 10. WXRP can be quite beneficial for FXRP. FXRP will be on Solana also (as it is on many chains already) so if WXRP is incentivised on Solana or any other chain any FXRP holder or Flare Vault can move their FXRP there and swap for WXRP to take advantage of the incentives bringing those profits back to FXRP and Flare because FXRP and Flareโ€™s vaults are just so easy to use.

More assets on Flare = more opportunities for ecosystem growth. Under FIP16 this then compounds back into FLR and the ecosystem. Other than FBTC what do you want to see on the network?

๐Ÿง  FIP.16 can feel dense if youโ€™re not familiar with the terminology. Hereโ€™s a simple glossary to help you navigate it: โžฃ FDC (Flare Data Connector) โ€” The system that brings external data onchain via attestations. โžฃ Flare Smart Accounts (FSA) โ€” Accounts that can execute programmable, multi-step actions from the XRPL. โžฃ FCC (Flare Confidential Compute) โ€” Secure compute layer using TEEs for private and verifiable execution. โžฃ MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) โ€” Value generated from transaction ordering, arbitrage, liquidations, etc. โžฃ FIRE (Flare Income Reinvestment Entity) โ€” The framework that collects network revenues (fees, MEV, etc.) and reallocates them toward supply reduction, rewards, and ecosystem growth. โžฃ Core Vault โ€” Mechanism that improves capital efficiency for FAssets by reducing reliance on agent collateral. โžฃ P-chain staking โ€” Locked FLR used to secure the network. โžฃ C-chain delegation (WFLR) โ€” Delegated FLR used mainly for oracle and data provider participation. โžฃ Management Group โ€” Governance body that can reject changes to certain protocol-level decisions. โžฃ Inflation vs Burn โ€” New FLR issued to reward participants vs FLR permanently removed from supply. โžฃ Buybacks โ€” Potential use of FIRE to purchase FLR from the market before reallocating or burning. If you understand these, you are equipped to understand most aspects of the proposal. Read the full FIP: proposals.flare.network/FIP/โ€ฆ

FIP.16: Your Questions, Answered. @HugoPhilion, @j00sko, and @0xQuantic go live to break down the FLR governance proposal - inflation, FIRE, protocol-level value capture, staking, and everything the community has been asking about. Set your reminder๐Ÿ‘‡

What is FIRE? FIRE = Flare Income Reinvestment Entity. It's the governed pool that collects protocol revenues and allocates them under a defined mandate. Primary mandate: reduce FLR supply to the maximum extent possible (buyback burn). Secondary: reward asset issuers proportional to activity, support dApp liquidity, and fund ongoing Foundation operations (security, engineering, ecosystem).

JUST IN: @FlareNetworks proposes capturing MEV revenue at the protocol level to fund $FLR buybacks and burns, while cutting annual token inflation from 5% to 3%.

The Flare Income Reinvestment Entity (FIRE) Incentive Pool Will Be Receiving All Ecosystem Fees, Algorithmically Buying & Burning $FLR, While Also Rewarding Validators, Stakers & Asset Issuers With Cutting Edge Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) Strategies Baked Into The Block Creation Process Itself Within A Dedicated Flare Confidential Compute (FCC) Environment! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ”ฅ Will This Obsolete All Other DeFi Blockchains?! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ”ฅ

A new governance proposal is live: Introduce $FLR Value Capture Framework What itโ€™s about: โ€ข Lower inflation: Annual inflation falls from 5% to 3%, and the yearly inflation hard cap drops from 5B FLR to 3B FLR. โ€ข Stronger fee burn: the base gas fee rises 20x, from 60 gwei to 1200 gwei, resulting in est. 300M FLR burned per year at current transaction levels. โ€ข Protocol-level revenue accrual and FIRE setup: Establish a framework to collect flows from protocol fees and captured MEV from DeFi activity on Flare with scope to further reduce annual inflation. proposals.flare.network/FIP/โ€ฆ

๐Ÿšจ Early release documentation for Flare Confidential Compute! Let me set expectations clearly: we are preparing for a soft release in which TEEs will be introduced as part of this broader system. There is no public code yet, but I highly recommend learning more about it now. The TLDR is that Flare Confidential Compute gives Flare a way to safely handle the parts of blockchain applications that are difficult or impractical to do fully onchain. Instead of forcing everything into a smart contract, Flare can send certain jobs to secure machines called TEEs, where sensitive logic and private keys can be handled safely. Those machines can then return signed results that Flare can trust and use. On top of that, FCC includes Protocol Managed Wallets (PMWs), which allow Flare-triggered logic to safely sign and execute transactions on other blockchains such as XRPL or Bitcoin, as well as a faster TEE-based version of FDC for data attestations. The simple mental model is this: Flare contracts request an action, secure TEE machines perform the sensitive work, and FCC makes the result usable onchain or across chains.

Not just XRPL - a lot of chains will need this and Flare will be there to partner with them.
XRPL doesn't need to evolveย to win the RWA track. It needs a compute layer for what canโ€™t happen in public. It can keep anchoring truth, while execution moves into sealed environments, where strategies run privately and proofs settle back onchain. Thatโ€™s what @FlareNetworks is building. Most people donโ€™t see it yet. $XRP holders are already there.
