Murrell earned around 75-80k a year - a damn good salary, but surely not enough for his wife not to question how he was able throw £4k at a pair of her own, worn shoes. Perhaps Murrell did this to assuage guilty feelings about rinsing the SNP bank account? Obviously Sturgeon had no suspicions about that. Which is unfortunate, because that would have been a good explanation for why she didn’t find the shoe shuffling extraordinary.
