I used AI Studio to make a totally bespoke and performant native Android app for my family to help manage our cat's chemo care (she's doing good 😻 ).
If you haven't tried AI Studio to make a native Android app that fits your needs exactly, I STRONGLY encourage you to give it a shot. It's so good and so easy. You don't have to have the whole idea to start, either. I started small and have been adding features when they occur, just by chatting.
It has a simple liveblog tool, 💩 tracker, and med tracker. We can always tell which meds received and when. We can quickly and easily put in status updates on her current condition and whatnot.
The whole thing backs up to a Google Doc as a single source of truth and so we have an archive of everything. We can adjust the meds there. Everything syncs. Since it's in Docs, we can ask Gemini to summarize or detail trends and makes it much easier to show up to the vet with accurate info on her condition and progress.
I haven't coded a thing myself since I broke websites with PHP in the late 2000s. But now we have this incredible app that fits our needs exactly. I've been able to just use natural language to iterate on it, upload screenshots of things I want to change or fix, and even get help with advanced features like setting up Google Log-In. And then bam, put it on our phones.
TRY IT!
try making an app yourself (we just launched Native Android App support along with Gmail, Docs, Calendar, and more!)
