ALT Relationship quality and mental health during pregnancy
ALT 1842 pregnant individuals surveyed monthly from April-July 2020 on the romantic relationship satisfaction and mental health (depression/anxiety). Relationship satisfaction predicted later depression and anxiety symptoms, but depression and anxiety symptoms did not predict later relationship satisfaction.
Implications. Relationship enhancement interventions during pregnancy may help improve mental health in pregnancy.
