Sometimes I forget (when I’m working on my book) that it’s not a homework assignment and I can shift gears if what I’m writing is boring.

I hate having my friends tell me when I’m doing too much, but I appreciate it.

Some of Black folx #onhere throwing “anti-Black” around are clearly not aware enough to know we know you in real life. And, many I see passing out that word plus more wouldn’t waste a glass of water on us if we were on fire next to them.

Hell... a look at some of y’all’s IG pages makes it clear you don’t fool with US, even though you are Black and write Black stories. Ha. We all have blindspots. We are humans. But, I’m seeing some hypocrites being very loud.

The New York Times puts whomever they want on the bestseller list.
Please quote this tweet with a thing that everyone in your field knows and nobody in your industry talks about because it would lead to general chaos.

I’m glad that I saw Queen & Slim, but I wouldn’t watch it again. The loose ends that were never followed up on, the unnecessary need to humanize cops, and that f*cking protest scene took me out of the film. It was beautiful to watch, tho.

Like they brought up major things that should’ve had some impact on the story and then just never mentioned them again.

Movies like Atlantics and Beale Street also remind me like... I'm not averse to stories of Black pain or trauma but I want them to actually be good lmao
