Reading this: âovershadowed by his behavior off of it, died on Thursday at a rehabilitation facilityâ hints (unfairly, IMHO) at it being some kind of addiction rehab, rather than nursing home health & rehab (possibly hospice) for someone suffering end stage renal failure.

Was nice when you could go out to Belmont and watch the Epsom Derby get simulcast into the stands without it interfering with a NYRA race going off at the same bleeping time!

Cold Spell is about 50% likely to win here. Mott did pull an upset in this same maiden event last year with eventual stakes winner, Ragtime.
Crowning Glory and her impeccable pedigree for Mott at 6-1 is a small swing in the opener.

There were two excellent opinions I was able to form from this podcast and the herd analysis therein that made my Derby day. Renegade would likely run well despite the post, and Further Ado had a very good chance to fold like a cheap suit under all the pressure.

Via Eric Crawford's post: Right to Party was scratched after failing a veterinary exam at Churchill Downs.
According to the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation, regulatory veterinarian Nick Smith informed McPeek that Right to Party had shown signs of unsoundness over the past three days. The colt was officially scratched due to right front lameness following morning training hours.
