China's economy is dead. ❓ Navigating the job market as a Software Engineer in Europe is relatively straightforward, but how does the landscape differ in China? πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ πŸ‘‰ I answer this question looking at the economy, working style and necessary skillset: soelke.de/my-best-tips-to-la…

Cultural differences πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ People in Shanghai already wish you a Happy New Year days before New Year’s eve. I believe this is a sin in Germany.

Shanghai during Chinese New Year feels almost like a ghost town. So many people vanish and travel back home. While I enjoy the quietness, it is sad to see that most of Shanghai exists for people coming here for work. Theyβ€˜d rather be somewhere else.

I see lots of people from Europe #leaving #twitter. What's the alternative people go for: #Mastodon, #Bluesky?

"Learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable" Getting used to that and engrain it is essential when you move yourself onto a different continent, into a vastly different culture. This began for me about a year ago when I moved to Shanghai, China. πŸ‘‰ soelke.de/leaving-your-comfo…

A rant about the status of #digitization in #Germany. Today: Report being unemployed online. #digitizationingermany

I studied computer science and have worked in the field professionally for almost 10 years now. I wonder how frustrated someone without a degree in computer science or regular touch points with web sites, smartphones and/or computers would be in this situation.

If this is how digitization looks like in Germany I am afraid to say that barely anyone wants to use it. At least an easily understood error message or a support hotline that proactively informs about the shortcomings (wrong TLS certificate) on their side would help a bunch.
Hey @fimbim, I always thought you were a person of inspiration, chaotic definitely, but always true to the values you represented. People change, that is a given. It is sad you changed for the worse. I hope you get what you deserve. Ciao. lmaafk.de #fynnkliemann

Is anyone in my network interested in or knows someone who is interested in a position as a childcare worker? I can refer a really great nursery school in Berlin Mitte/Tiergarten close to U- and S-Bahn which is in need of new colleagues!
For the past ~4 years we have been using a #Dyson V10 in a household of two adults plus two dogs, for the past 19 months with an additional family member. Those are our experiences and why I would not buy this vacuum cleaner again. /cc @Dyson

Another year later already exchanged battery started wobble in the main unit which made the vacuum cleaner go on and off randomly. We had to push the battery into the main unit hard to actually switch it on.

I really like the light design of the Dyson V10. I am able to use it at home, in the car or wherever else I need it. However, I am expecting a high build quality with the attached price tag.
