Fascinating data. According to @baseball_ref, rookieSal Stewart has by far the most ABS challenges by a batter, and he’s pretty good at it. baseball-reference.com/friv/…

Freddie Freeman is quietly about to surpass Fred McGriff, who has played the 3rd-most games as a first baseman in MLB history. With healthy seasons, he'll approach #2 Beckley and #1 Murray by the end of 2027. 💻 @baseball_ref Leaders & Records

Jose Ramirez is the first player in MLB history with at least 415 2B, 295 HR, and 310 SB through his age-33 season. He's also a one-franchise man that's slugging .500 lifetime, has never struck out more than 87 times in a season, and already has 60.0 WAR. COOPERSTOWN BECKONS

Jose Ramirez is so good and so underrated that I may do a NEPTA post on him before long. I believe we are watching a future HOF’er. He is a switch-hitter with power and speed, a durable presence at the hot corner, a team-first guy that took a pay cut to stay in Cleveland. HOF!

After the 1998 season, Mo Vaughn left Boston for a big free agent contract in Anaheim and the Red Sox signed Jose Offerman to fill Vaughn's shoes, which sounds patently ridiculous. But Offerman dominated Vaughn in their head-to-head matchups and made the All-Star team in 1999!
Not enough people talk about Jose Offerman • .273/.360/.373 (.732 OPS), 94 OPS • 17.1 WAR, 1551 H, 172 SB, 2118 TB • Played in MLB from 1990-2005 • 2x AS, never struck out 100x • Scored 100 runs 2x, 1998-99 • Royals all-time BA & OBP leader • Back-to-back 3B leader 1998-99 • Outstanding postseason numbers: • .400 BA, 1.024 OPS, 8 RBI over 14 GP • 3 hits, a HR, and a stolen base in debut • Prime 1998: .315 BA, 191 H, 13 3B, 45 SB • Top B-R Similarity Score: Delino DeShields • 22 yrs of pro ball: 2506 H, 100 HR, 1443 RS • Banned for life from Dominican Winter League • (For punching an umpire in the face as manager) • In 2007, while in the midst of a great season (.335 BA, .927 OPS) for the Long Island Ducks –– an organization with an apparently long and distinguished history of hiring great people –– Offerman attacked opposing pitcher Matt Beech and catcher John Nathans with a bat after being hit by a pitch; Beech broke a finger and Nathans sustained a career-ending head injury, later winning $940,000 in a lawsuit against Offerman
