President Cyril Ramaphosa has finally warned Vladimir Putin not to come to South Africa in person for the BRICS summit, because he’d be arrested and sent to the International Criminal Court. Putin will have to appear via Zoom instead. Distinctly humiliating.

I was on my phone and reading about Bryony Gordon’s interview with Prince Harry. My six year old boy looked at the photograph and said ‘is that you and mummy?’ It made me wonder just how little attention he gives to me or my wife.

I’m in the chemo clinic watching Rishi Sunak become the first person of colour to be PM. For a 1st generation migrant like me, born in Sri Lanka, it is a moment of great pride to live in a European country where this is possible. Racism is not over, but we’re on the right path.
