Rents are high due to greedy landlords. Bungalow near me rent £18k a year. Some shop workers don't even earn that!

Six million people expect to be paying for their housing into retirement but don't know how they will afford it. And nearly half of all tenants see no end to paying rent after they stop work. With @bbcdanw and @Sarah_Pennells of @RoyalLondon on @Moneybox noon @BBCRadio4

I think you’ll be shocked to see how many people genuinely don’t care that this is a situation people are facing and indeed will apportion blame on those struggling.

The rent on a pension is going to be a huge problem down the line. Once rents would have been affordable, my nanna used to rent a long time ago.

This is a real problem. Community housing for the retired is a complete rip - off. It should be state run as part of healthcare.

Tax payer will pick up the bill. Disincentivising retirement saving. Ad infinitum until Britain sinks back into the ocean.

You know things are bad when prison appears to be the best option for retirement. Food, shelter and no bills. There’s a lot to be said for having the simple things in life.

I'm a bariatric surgeon who has performed 2500 weight management surgeries in the UK & US. GLP-1 weight loss medication have created a massive drop in bariatric surgery. My colleagues in the field are disappointed, but I'm thrilled as I was growing tired of the same operation.

The UK has twice as many taxes as it had in 1993. Not twice as much tax. Twice as many taxes. Yes, we pay a bit more tax, but tax has got a whole lot more complicated. Time to reverse that.

Fortunately, Britain has a Bermuda-registered mass circulation newspaper owned by a French-domiciled billionaire, a television station owned by a Dubai hedge fund and a political party backed by a Thailand-based crypto tycoon to remind us of the importance of patriotism

Our local small Morrisons is closing . It hosts a Post Office. We are left, as a large village of 9000 people with no access to cash except one ATM. Bad news for the elderly with mobility issues
Curse of Private Equity Morrisons to close 100 stores. Blames govt, silent on PE looting. PE loaded company with £6.6bn debt, cut staff, sold-off petrol stations, indulged in sale and leaseback of assets, extracted returns. PE devouring high street. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c362…

Football should bring people together, not shut them out. For the first time since the competition began, fans won’t be able to watch the Champions League final for free. That’s not right. This is bigger than wanting to watch Arsenal in this historic final. It’s bigger than one club. Hardworking people shouldn’t have to fork out for a subscription to watch this match. I urge TNT Sports to reconsider and make the final next Saturday free to watch.
