Whatever you think about the #bbc - and about #MishalHusain - the beeb will produce another top drawer presenter as it is stacked with many highly talented people. Mishal is brilliant IMO (& incredibly nice) but someone will fill her shoes soon enough.

Not one but 2…champion jockeys. @SantiagoDelph_ has a record 705 wins as a French female jockey…and many more to come. @joefujii1 - 100’s of winners before his career-ending accident. Now a global inspiration in pushing for new goals. Great people both.

So sorry to hear of the passing of #SvenGoranEriksson
I happen to be in Sapporo, Japan, where Sven’s England beat Argentina on the way to the 1/4finals of the FIFA World Cup, 2002. A very gracious man. For all the media stick he remained civil and friendly throughout. RIP

Good to see healthy #coral reef footage sent to me yesterday from my old home on Taveuni, #Fiji. COP28's "2030 Coral Breakthrough" calls for us to double the world's area of coral reefs under protection. Collectively we have the opportunity to save an entire ecosystem.

At #COP28, Pacific nations announced the Unlocking Blue Pacific Prosperity Plan, which will aim to sustainably manage 100% of the Pacific Ocean and effectively protect 30% of it, making it one of the world’s largest conservation efforts.

Speaking at COP28 10 days ago I was angry as I'd read IEA's report that oil & gas industry contributes only 1% of the necessary for our transition to renewable energy. I now leave COP28 angrier as I've read OPEC SG's letter urging action to block mention of fossil fuel reductions
