It was an honor to coordinate a press conference w/@RepRitchie to raise awareness for lung cancer early detection & our #HealthScreeningVan last week! Very excited to bring this life-saving service back to the Bronx soon 🚐🫁 GetCheckedNY.org #LungCancerAwarenessMonth
The Bronx has some of the highest rates of advanced lung cancer. I partnered with Weill Cornell to bring a mobile lung cancer screening unit to NY-15, and I’m introducing legislation to strengthen insurance coverage for annual screenings. Early detection saves lives.

Lung cancer takes more lives than any other cancer—but early detection changes everything. Last month we launched our mobile CT unit to bring screening where it’s needed most. This November, let’s break stigma, raise awareness, and save lives. #LungCancerAwareness #EarlyDetection

We all need to put our heads together to strategize ways to increase awareness and accessibility to screening. Hoping this helps engage all in further conversation in how we can incorporate this in the lung health treatment continuum.
