.@Caltrain What trains are running electric during your current soft launch phase? Just a hint please! My sister saw one Sunday so I know they're out there

.@Caltrain Where are you posting except X ? I want alerts but X is not a site I have loaded or support anymore. Key public infrastructure should be posting lots of places.

It's not that I'm boycotting twitter / X, it's that the place makes my skin crawl. I'll admit that my opinion of anyone still posting here will be lesser, just a bit, anyway. Join me... anywhere else.

Burning man is not a festival. a festival is a series of concerts or shows or plays. Burning man is not that, because there are no spectators. Burning man does not bring in acts. It is an event.

To continue using the wrong word causes people to think it is a festival like coachella or bottlerock, and nothing is further from the truth.

As an event, and an unusual one in a very harsh and unpredictable environment, the organization has no responsibility to the safety of attendees. Unlike a festival.

If you are a web admin or business, remove the twitter share labels from your website. X's policies encouraging ugly speech don't deserve your support - and the data from those share images are a lifeblood. That is the boycott of X that we need.

Burning man is not a festival. Burning man is not for tourists. It's it a commitment to make art. I happen to have left early and avoided the mud, but were i there I would be enjoying.

We exodus'd at about 4, 4:15pm friday (hitting asphalt, which was slippery). According to BMmanTraffic, the gate closed "temporarily" at 7pm - and hasn't reopened. Although the adventure of burningman is the adventure, I'm glad to sit this one out. Flooded tents and no portos.

San Francisco's question is when rents drop. Landlords and developers are holding to about $3k to $4k per month for apartments, vacancies piling up. We don't need more building to solve the 'housing crisis'

It is time to switch your browser search engine to Bing from Google. You will be shocked at the difference: almost no ads, instead of so many ads you can't find the results.

I will miss being on twitter. I like the constraints of short form. Blowing off a little steam, carefully, now and again was fun. But the beginning of Musk Era has himself repeating a conspiracy theory, as expected, so I'll be out until things change. Do widzenia.
These images of what pregnancy actually looks like before 10 weeks will shock you theguardian.com/world/2022/o…

Albertsons and Safeway merger bad for California. Those are the only two megagroceries. Selling stores only means the store will close without access to Safeway distribution. FTC should block it. Probably won't. 😞

Windows 22H2 supports showing my family as an emojii! but only if you have children. A family is defined as having children, didn't you know that? and the maximum number is two. Pretty insulting, Microsoft.

.@googledocs It's hard to format code in Google Docs, and interwebs say use third party extension "Code Blocks" but I have to grant permissions to read all my docs and their unspecified third party web apps. Not Ok. Please pull code formatting into the core product.
.@GavinNewsom How about getting on the power regulator's case, and forcing residential electricity charged based on the amount of grid supply in an area? Instead of having the expensive rates when the grid is oversupplied? More expensive on cloudy days?
covid booster availability: kaiser, really? only a few sites in the bay area have any availability, and nothing sooner than 2 or 3 weeks, when walgreens will do it tomorrow?

In a bald attempt to keep the fear and newspapers flowing, WaPo issues an editorial saying the pandemic is not over, redefining the word pandemic as 'when a disease is hurting a lot of people'. That is an epidemic, saps, and words matter. #WashingtonPost
