Hard disagree. In <10 total miles ("upgraded" last night), I've had to disengage 3 times. Twice it tried to make an illegal left hand turn. Then it tried to enter the oncoming lane before an upcoming left turn lane. Disappointed. I was looking forward to it based on reviews.
FSD V14.3.3 is a banger

How is GitHub Copilot asking me to approve `xargs` for all uses not just backdoor yolo mode?

Documentation of security features should be written by security pros. Many people have bad mental models of how security works and ambiguous or incorrect documentation is a factor. Bad models lead to bad practices and make us all less secure.

There are so many levels to this, it's fascinating. I just wish the buttons weren't red and blue, because that immediately puts this in a political frame in the U.S.
Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

Software has _always_ been written by unreliable agents. “We care more about measuring correctness now because agents write unreliable code” is a story that doesn’t hold up. We care because testing used to be 50% of the work and now it’s 99%. - Will Wilson @AntithesisHQ #bugbash

As the (apocryphal?) story goes, when Jordan was told LeBron had won more NBA Championship Game 7s than anyone else, his response was, "Good for him. What's Game 7 like?" What metrics are you trying to improve that you should be systematically eliminating the need for?

If the government is shut down, do we still have to change the clocks this weekend?

Maybe it's because I've curated my feed to be tech futurism and sports with a smattering of geopolitics, but I'm convinced that a prediction market is a killer feature for @X. Here's a novel spin: Beat @grok. Are people better at predicting outcomes than Grok? Let's see.

As a Texan, I would love for Houston to have a shuttle, but the time for that was years ago. I would much rather see Discovery remain in one piece and in the Smithsonian at this point.
Because apparently it needed to be said: Space Shuttle Discovery should stay put and in one piece, so tens-to-hundreds of millions of dollars can instead go toward solving real-world problems for Americans:

People who claim Excel is better than Sheets have never tried collaborating on a (private?) sheet. Pessimistic locking in Excel is a nightmare.

Bad error messaging misleads users or makes them feel helpless. Good error messaging conveys what's happening so users can resolve the issue. Great error messaging helps users form a useful mental model of how the application works, so they avoid issues in the future.

What good resources are out there for dealing with "legacy cloud?" Defined as: 1. Hand-built; lacking IaC. 2. Vestigial resources; past iterations, canceled projects, etc. 3. Lack of documentation; relies on oral tradition.

I think of myself as being pretty good at teasing these types of environments apart, but I can always learn more. I'm looking for something with the impact of Feathers' Working with Legacy Code, but focused on cloud.

After 90 mins on the phone with @AppleSupport, they decided to punt me by telling me they don't have phone support for developer.apple.com, despite our phone call being initiated from the support link on that same site. Gaslighting much?

Is the Apple Developer verification process the worst UX ever? "Please hold your ID perfectly still five inches from your camera and click this button. Whoops. Too blurry. You have access to a flatbed scanner? Too bad. Hold it more still next time."

Taking time off from work is not letting your coworkers or your customers down. It's you taking care of yourself and recharging your batteries. That way you can bring your best to work on your return and be a teammate to your colleagues when it's their time to take off.
