Except that you don't get any of that money up front. I'm an accountant...allow me to explain:
You get the $6k when you file your tax return for the year the baby is born, so if your baby is born in 2025, you get that tax credit when you file your tax return in the Spring of 2026. So her claim that it's to help you buy a crib or car seat is false. I guess that only helps if you put your crib & car seat on a credit card & pay 30% interest until you get your tax refund. The child tax credit Trump is proposing is $5k/ year every year of your child's life.
The $25k assistance is for "first generation" homeowners. If your parents or grandparents bought a home, you don't qualify. If your parents or grandparents haven't purchased a home, you still have to have 2 years of rental history showing you've never been late on your rent payments to qualify. Sheesh... Didn't she say she was going to eliminate red tape?!?
The $50k for small businesses is a tax deduction on startup costs, so it it costs you less than $50k to start your business, you only get to deduct the amount up to your costs. Also, with it being a tax deduction, it's coming off the taxes you owe each year. Donald Trump is proposing a 15% tax rate for businesses operating in the United States. That's an immediate and permanent benefit that the small business owner receives regardless.
