Dame Vera Lynn has died, aged 103. In 1981, the she told Michael Parkinson how she became the "Forces' Sweetheart".

Our sandstone harbour walls are beautiful, but they’re not a great home for diverse marine life. So we have provided the Sydney Institute of Marine Science with a $20,000 grant to create artificial homes for fish, crabs and ocean plants along the shoreline.
