I recommend starting with one of the earlier titles so you can really capture the feel of final fantasy! 4, 5, 6 have really great stories!
After you’ve played one of those, then move to the 3D titles! 7 is good so you can get a feel before you play 7R, but my recommendation is 10, 8, or 9
Afterward you can go back and fill in! But definitely hitting one of the 2D games first in my opinion will make your final fantasy journey richer🤩
