If no one else has explained it to you, we’re not voting TO strike, we’re voting to AUTHORIZE the national board to call a strike if necessary. It may well be accurate to say that the more members who vote to *authorize* a strike, the less likely there is to *be* a strike.

I told my kid that, in nature, red can often be a signal that an animal has venom, and that it means “stay away”, and she immediately replied “no, red means KILL IT”, and from the predator perspective she’s so right

I’m going to eventually need to get “mothers country of origin: Mexico” taken off my child’s birth certificate, as I was not born in Mx and have no citizenship there. @ACLU 🙃

That “profile” included “no prenatal care”. We’d just moved to OR and my CA doc had changed phone numbers, so they thought I was lying (and undocumented).
After I gave birth, some nuns came in to gently speak to me. “We understand you have no insurance?” I had Oregon Health.
