No, I didn't belittle
@ETHZema . I actually quoted the leader,
@EyobMes himself for having a "managed expectations" even though it is the only opposition party that can contest the Prosperity Party in terms of candidates' number fielded for parliament.
So I listened, thanks. You are well-read, insightful and you were a political prisoner, so you have everything it takes to be a great analyst of Ethiopian politics. But....:
Firstly, voter turnout is always lower when the result is certain. This is the same in mature democracies.
Secondly, perhaps the interview was too short or it was edited, but I missed a forceful condemnation of the nasty terrorist militias. Because I know you definitely don't support them.
Thirdly, why do you belittle EZEMA? They field candidates wherever they have a chance. They are a multiethnic and multireligious party. They believe in liberal democracy and human rights like you do, but they also understand that Rome wasn't built in a day and that moderates need to unite in the face of the ethnonationalist extremist violence that threatens the country. Couldn't you be a good candidate for EZEMA? Or is your problem that you do indeed want Rome to be built in a day?
Anyway, you can be both a critic of the government and an ally in the struggle against ethnonationalist extremism. Is that how you see yourself?
