Physical geographer, Quaternary scientist and researcher interested in climate and environment change. Check out my blog for guides on using R for data science!
It’s a big week for @QEGMan from @GeographyUOM members at #INQUARoma2023 where members have been, & are, busy presenting talks & posters & appearing as co-authors in abundance
I'll be presenting to @BES_Palaeo shortly on using R for making maps. I'll make the slides and full R code available on my blog later, for those that can't attend.
Our new paper on the climate of the Marrakech High Atlas, Morocco is out today and available #OpenAccess

I've updated my blog! New R guides are on the way, and to start, I have rewritten and greatly expanded my introduction to R guide.
Part 1 introduces you to R, covering all the basics to get you started.

Pleased to say our latest research paper has just been published, examining environment and climate change for the last 1000 years in the Marrakech #HighAtlas using pollen analysis.
The paper is available #OpenAccess and you can check it out here: link.springer.com/article/10…
Using pollen, NPP, and micro-charcoal analysis, we explore the the changes in the environment, which we link to climate, and snow-pack dynamics.
As well as exploring the role of humans, and how they influenced the record, through pastoral activity and land-management practices.
The raw pollen data is available as a supplementary file with the paper. Alternatively, you can also download it from FigShare: doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.…
Fantastic to present our project at #vEGU21 this morning, in a really interesting session!
