If you’re looking for a good cause this holiday season, there’s a bike giveaway coming up Dec. 18 at Malcolm X Elementary School in Berkeley. CM @benbartlett has asked to put it on tonight’s #berkmtg agenda to garner more support.

So proud of the great work happening in Minneapolis, which shows that boosting housing supply helps make homes more affordable.

Dems need to embrace making it easier & faster to produce the things people need — e.g., housing, clean energy, child care, transit — & move away from government-created scarcity. An abundance approach lowers cost of living. Dems need to lean into being the Party of abundance.

While the Berkeley police continues to investigate the deadly shooting 💔 my heart is heavy following the tragic and senseless shooting in Berkeley. My deepest condolences go out to the families affected by this heartbreaking incident. While gun crimes have decreased by 22% in our city, three homicides are still three too many. We must continue to address the root causes of violence and take meaningful action to ensure the safety of our neighborhoods. Let’s stand united in our efforts to create a safer community for all! #EndGunViolence #CommunitySafety nbcbayarea.com/news/local/ea… via @nbcbayarea

Proud to stand with Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden in their continued leadership for our country. As we look towards the future, I am excited to support Kamala Harris, a proud Berkeley native, for the Democratic Party nomination for President. Her dedication to justice, equity, and progress embodies the values we need in our nation's highest office. Together, we can build a brighter, more inclusive future for all Americans. #KamalaHarris2024 #BidenHarris #DemocraticParty #Leadership #Progress #berkeleypride

As we debate the final Missing Middle initiative on City Council, my article from 2017 continues to frame my thinking berkeleyside.org/2017/06/13/…, Berkeley’s zoning laws have historically created barriers for communities of color, seniors, low-income residents, and others. The Missing Middle initiative is an opportunity to address these inequities and create a more inclusive and accessible city for all. For more insights, I recommend reading Darrell Owens’ thought-provoking article: open.substack.com/pub/darrel… on the zoning battle in Berkeley. It offers a comprehensive look at the challenges and opportunities we face. You can find more details and follow the upcoming City Council meeting on July 23, 2024, here: berkeleyca.gov/city-council-… #BerkeleyCityCouncil #MissingMiddle #CommunityEngagement #InclusiveHousing
