Ironic that seeking a 'fair price' would be a socialist policy?
💥 Farmers and tractors with placards saying 'Labour Out' blockaded retailers' depots early this morning

#agflation running riot, this is my largest concern within agricultural sustainability - zero deflationary pressure on farm machinery when compared to farm borrowings against assets value, lenders are happy to lend. Compare this with construction machinery!

I'm confused and part of the industry! Closing down bio-ethanol plant for energy (bad) solar panels on ag land (bad) growing 'food' that is in huge surplus (good). There seems to be such a narrative of moaning about everything, is the general public just getting immune to this?
“A national food system without resilience, in a world of increasing geopolitical shocks and climate uncertainty, is tantamount to self-destruction.” I agree with the Prof, where is the UK Gov’s strategic thinking?? Answer… there appears to be none.

HELP! The Govt rushed through Inheritance Tax changes with no proper consultation. Family farms & businesses are at risk. Jobs, heritage & communities will be lost. I’m taking them to Judicial Review — please support 👉 crowdjustice.com/case/family… #SaveFamilyFarms #StopTheFamilyFarmTax #BackBritishBusiness #NoToUnfairTax

Whilst the herbal ley has struggled to establish in the #westmidlanddrought25 the fat hen and sunflowers (added to the mixture in error) at least provide some solace!

On Get Outdoors Day 30 people explored Townsend Farm on an all-terrain wheelchair ramble hosted by the Tailor-Davies Family. Using barrier free tracks around the farm we passed the 'Silo' with its colourful mural & a new bird hide, housed in a restored railway wagon. @bentd76

This @EarthOrg article highlights Save Soil's report calling for soil regeneration to be recognized as a public health priority. Here are the key findings of the report: - Soil rich in soil organic matter leads to higher crop yields and better nutritional quality in food - Contact with the soil positively affects the diversity of the human gut microbiota and gut health - Soil degradation is accelerating global malnutrition, particularly “hidden hunger” - Healthy soil supports the production of nutrient-rich foods that are essential for mental health - Healthy soil is foundational to maintaining clean air, water, and stable climates - Soil health is critically connected to the mental health of farmers, who are often the most directly affected by soil degradation Excerpt: Speaking to Save Soil, Dr. Simon Jeffrey, a leading soil scientist at Harper Adams University, added: “Healthy soils are literally vital to our health and survival. We get the vast majority of our calories and nutrients from the soil. Healthy soils produce better, more resilient crops.” “The continued conversation linking healthy nutrient dense food to the health of the human and looking at food as health care rather than calories is critical to this topic. Healthy food can only be produced in a living soil, which in turn leads to a health environment and ultimately the link between soil, food, human can be regarded as the real Natural Health Service,” added Ben Taylor-Davies @bentd76, a regenerative farmer based in England. #SaveSoil
