Inviting English hate monger Graham Linehan to Congress is bullshit. Actual parents are terrified their actual children will lose access to medical care. Republicans respond by importing lying bigots to lie. I am running for Congress so they have to say this shit to my face.

The #NoKings protests across the 6th District were inspiring ❤️ From music and dance parties to frogs and Antz quotes, the #NorthShore showed up!

This is accurate🤣 I am pretty normal: I hate fascists, think healthcare shouldn’t bankrupt us & don’t want my tax dollars building concentration camps. But I also understand technology and know AI is going to be a cosmic shift for society. Learn more at bethfordemocracy.com

I’m running for Congress! I waited tables and served as a health care administrator before I worked my way into software development. I’ve spent the last twenty years building software that works for users. It is time to build a government that works for us.

The blue check spam problem on here is out of control. I’m closing my DMs, but there are lots of other platforms where you can reach me that don’t take money from spammers.

It is interesting to me how fascism requires people to betray their most deeply-held & deeply-professed values. One can build a whole brand around “software craftsmanship” & still end up stanning for private equity that actively forbids engineers from building software well.
I love the fact that people attack @elonmusk based on their silly ideologies, while he wields reality with such relentless determination. I mean the guy is building F-ing Space Ships! Deal with it!

Realized today that the testing pyramid describes the number of units under test at each layer of abstraction. Behaviour is fractal & emergent, so so is documentation & verification.

If you can’t explain a software architecture to its users, it suggests you can’t transform the logical model of the software to mental model of the users. That means the behavior of these models will diverge. We call those “bugs”.

You know, the great thing about unions is that if you have a union contract your company can’t suddenly & coercively demand you work 20 hours of unpaid overtime or be fired. Just saying.

Remember, you have a legal right to organize with your coworkers for better working conditions without fear of retaliation.
I confirmed that several Twitter engineers slept in the office over the weekend in effort to make the Wednesday deadline to build the verification feature. A lot of these messages are not ironic: they’re real. It’s understood that those not performing could well be laid off.

Two years ago we published a paper about online community migration, and I think the findings and recommendations are relevant to what I'm seeing right now on Twitter. Especially the barriers and challenges to relocating (and maybe some solutions). 🧵cmci.colorado.edu/~cafi5706/…

We all have the option of doing software design that enhances our relationship with ourselves, our peers, and people with different perspectives. The more you can make your changes in small safe steps, the more you can preserve your relationships. @kentbeck

“This is not normal,” said Narayana Kocherlakota, a former president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. With a bank’s clients involved, he added, “the optics are terrible.” “Optics” I am so done with Fed euphemisms. It’s unethical, It’s wrong.

Okay, this post drove me absolutely up the wall in its strange logic about the resurgence of a labor movement, and I had to write it up... redeem-tomorrow.com/when-you…
