My husband takes great pride polishing his shoes every night. But he is terrible at it. His vision is failing and his hands shake. The result is awful. Every night, at some point, I get out of bed "to go to the bathroom". I take his shoes with me. I polish them until they shine.
Marriage is a promise to disconnect and reconnect with a person so many times that trust is established. Itâs the ultimate course in personal growth, not a promise youâll always be happy.
