Here's Gothic 1 Remake achieving much higher frametime consistency on RX 9070 XT vs RTX 5070 Ti. The game will simply feel much smoother and agreeable to play on the AMD GPU here. We really ought to bring more attention to this issue. Video source: youtube.com/watch?v=d26LNi0F…
Replying to @SKHYJINX
Another issue that people largely ignore is the frametime consistency on NVIDIA vs AMD GPUs in complex/open-world games. AMD GPUs tend to run those games quite a bit smoother, and this is something that NVIDIA may have to fix with their future GPU architectures.

If X wants us to stop using DMs they should just say it. How can a shitty chat system be this laggy?

At this point I believe "X3D" mindshare might be more powerful than Nvidia's. $350 for this thing, lmao.

Many people ask “what’s the point of frame generation?” One big advantage they miss: More FPS (with VRR) = higher refresh rate = much less sample-and-hold/persistence blur on LCDs, which greatly increases motion clarity. Tim from HUB mentions this here: youtube.com/watch?v=BWBQGPBe…

It should be also something to think about: is the picture quality better at 80fps native (80hz) than at 160 (160hz) via FG? At this level FG artifacts are hard to see but the motion clarity of 160 vs 80 is quite noticeable.

Obviously FG doesn't work always well (sometimes it's even badly implemented by the devs), or the visual style of a particular game makes it more prone to artifacts. But it's certainly a great tool to have IMO

This was the state of game optimization 13 years before DLSS was introduced by the way, as people seem to constantly forget:

Doing some research about old PC gaming, I found Anandtech's F.E.A.R. review and the comments section is pure gold. It's been 20 years and it shows that ... nothing has really changed. Some examples below 👇

I guess The Witcher 3 is shit then. The hate against Ubisoft is hilarious.
You know the game is gonna be shit the moment you as an assassin hit a little boar with your sword and a health bar pops up instead of just dying.

This just shows again that part of the real cost of consoles are behind these subscriptions.
Starting May 20, PlayStation Plus prices for new customers will increase in select regions. Due to ongoing market conditions, prices will start at $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP for 1-month subscriptions and $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP for 3-month subscriptions. This price change does not apply to current subscribers (except in Turkey and India) unless the existing subscription changes or lapses.

My very first impression so far is that the back buttons are incredibly annoying especially in certain games, where I can't properly rest the fingers and I press them too often.
Luke warm take - this controller is not comfortable Maybe it’s my big hands or big arms holding it all sorts of ways, but the angles are off and the buttons are a not comfortable to press

When it comes to Turing, there are two videos that could be made: 1) How useful ray tracing actually was at the time 2) How well the cards aged thanks to DLSS and DX12 Ultimate Steve, of course, chose #1 and built a massive strawman around it

I say it is a strawman because no one bought Turing "only" because RT this there is no scam anywhere, it was a very nice extra feature. And he knows very well that technologies like this take to be implemented, especially coming before a new console generation.
