Homeschooling and spending time with your kids are two different things though. 🧐
Like, I love my husband. We never tire of being together. And yet, he has told me time and time again he hates having to teach me things because I don’t respond well to it.
“I could never homeschool, I’d go crazy” is a sentence people say out loud without realizing what they’re admitting about their relationship with their own children. We are the only species that considers it unusual to WANT to be around our own offspring. We built institutions, schedules, and social shame around it. And then we act shocked when the kids grow up feeling like a burden. Then they have kids, and the cycle has a name now but we still won’t say it out loud.
