We recently went deep on the liminal horror in Backrooms and tried to get to the bottom of exactly why it's so scary. youtu.be/KOS-VBTHVBU

"Night Train to Terror" (1985) es una de las antologías más delirantes: Dios y Satanás viajan en un tren discutiendo el destino de las almas humanas. La película se construyó uniendo los fragmentos de tres películas inacabadas.

1: I could listen to this dude nerd out all day. 2: The Blender piece of this is almost hard to under state. THIS IS A FREE OPEN SOURCE PROGRAM. Combine it with the free version of Davinci Resolve, and you can kind of do anything, for zero dollars.

And the amazing thing is, with 20 more years of history, a film like this may reveal even more layers of meaning. There's no way to know, until we get there.

What's a movie whose deeper themes have snapped into view for you, years after the fact?

Inspiring to see a young person this thoughtful and measured.
Kane Parsons says he doesn’t think of himself as part of a YouTuber movement in Hollywood after ‘BACKROOMS’. “I’m not out to speak on the broader trends of what’s taking place right now. I think a few years down the line, I can reflect on it with a bit more clarity.”

I worked weekend night shifts at a TV station in the early 00's and always thought it would have made the perfect location for a horror movie.
Backrooms isn't scary to me because I used to work graveyard shift in a hotel during COVID where I was just completely alone in this building all night every night.

Kate Beckinsale stars in a 'Dead' movie was not on my bingo card for 2026.
TWILIGHT OF THE DEAD. Based on a treatment written by George A. Romero, the zombie movie is coming soon. Greg Nicotero will handle the makeup effects. Kate Beckinsale stars. The last vestiges of humanity are trapped between warring factions & an undead threat.

The best parody movies aren't making fun of a genre. They're love letters to it. (THREAD🧵)
