As the #1 university in the Midwest for veterans and active military students by @MilitaryTimes, Bowling Green was honored to be part of the @IUCOhio Military-Connected Student Symposium and join the Leadership Panel alongside fellow university presidents today at the Ohio Statehouse. It was especially powerful to hear from @BGSU alumnus and keynote speaker Major General Matthew Woodruff '96, Ohio’s 84th Adjutant General, one of the state's highest military position. We are also incredibly proud that Bowling Green was recognized with the National Veterans Leadership Foundation’s Excellence in Programming for Military-Connected Students Award, a testament to our faculty and staff who are so committed to serving those who serve.

Meet the artist behind Bowling Green's largest piece of art. At 91 years old, artist Donald Drumm is still creating every day inside his Akron, Ohio, workshop, which is just steps away from his gallery, opened in 1971 as one of the country’s first galleries of contemporary craft. 🎨 During his time as Artist-in-Residence at BGSU (1965–71), Drumm climbed stories of scaffolding to design and install what remains his largest installation, the iconic Jerome Library mural. As a nationally recognized pioneer in cast aluminum and contemporary materials, Drumm's legacy spans more than a dozen works of art across campus. Read more: bit.ly/4ocymj8

BGSU grad Mitch Carrico '26 found a second home within the Thompson Working Families Scholarship Program and credited its infrastructure with helping him stay on track to graduate. 🎓 Through the Thompson program, he found a tight-knit community where each recipient has a dedicated advisor and a network of like-minded students ready to help. Carrico closed out his college career by delivering the keynote address at the Thompson End of Year Celebration, which touched on the value of everything the Thompson program stands for. The 80th annual Buckeye Girls State kicks off this week at BGSU! This is the fourth consecutive year Bowling Green has hosted, and as a public university for the public good, we are looking forward to welcoming more than 600 high school students and staff members to our campus as they step into the world of civic leadership through immersive, hands-on experiences.

A year ago, @BGSU_Baseball pitcher Ethan Stade wasn’t on a Division I roster. This spring, he became one of the nation’s top pitchers, earned All-@MACSports First Team honors and put himself on the radar of @MLB teams.⚾ The last year in Bowling Green dramatically changed the course of Stade’s career. He recorded 103 strikeouts in just 64 innings and across his last nine starts, Stade struck out at least six hitters in every appearance and posted a 3.63 earned-run average. As a result of this year, he will be an intriguing name during the later rounds of the MLB Entry Draft in July. Read more: bit.ly/3S2ZaWU
