As we celebrate 150th foundation day of #BombayStockExchange, it reminds me story Shri @ashishchauhan the then MD of #BSE shared while presenting me the memorabilia of banyan tree under which it started. It was during launch of DrKurien's audiobook #TheManWhoMadeTheElephantDance

At times I wonder how an editorial can be just an index in paragraphs, may be editor is busy. Here is an example, what you can go through in Content Index page in tabular form, same is mentioned in editorial. A precious page is wasted. @TheWeekLive

This is Dr. Shubha Venkatesha Iyengar. She helped build DRISHTI - India's first indigenous runway visibility measuring system. And DRISHTI is a big reason why planes are able to land safely even if the pilots can barely see the runway. See, during heavy fog, rain, dust or smog - visibility is extremely low. And that is terrifying. Because during landings, every second and every metre of visibility matters. This is where DRISHTI comes in. It is a device that measures something called Runway Visual Range (RVR). And it does this by sending a light beam between two DRISHTI units placed about 30 metres apart along the runway and measuring how much of that light gets through the fog, rain, or dust. Clear air -> more light reaches the sensors -> higher visibility. Dense fog -> less light reaches the sensors -> lower visibility. DRISHTI gives the ATCs and pilots these accurate readings - which basically tells them if its safe to land or not. And this isn't just a prototype. In fact, more than 100 DRISHTI systems have been installed across airports in India. Also, its not like we didn't have these runway visibility measuring systems before. We did. But these were mostly imported systems and were also expensive. DRISHTI was developed indigenously in India at the CSIR-NAL - under the leadership of Dr. Shubha Venkatesha Iyengar. This system is more accurate and only costs 1/3rd of imported systems. So the next time you are in Delhi during winters landing safely on the airport - you'll know who to thank for it. ". . . history reserves its greatest respect not for those who held power longest, but for those who carried it lightly, exercised it wisely, and relinquished it gracefully. To govern is a privilege, not an entitlement" - former PM Narasimha Rao comes to my mind @PavanK_Varma

Fantastic! Congratulations Team @ZohoMail ✌️ You always make us, the Indians proud. 👍 @PMOIndia
Zoho Mail has won the SE Labs UK Security Award for Enterprise E-mail Security Services, along with Cisco and TrendAI (link in comment). Our teams have spent multiple decades of painstaking, un-glamourous R&D work with email security and anti-spam. We entered the enterprise email market dominated by Microsoft and now we are winning global recognition for the hard work by our R&D teams. As a result of that work, Zoho Mail is doing well with enterprises and governments around the world today. A lot more R&D in the pipeline!

Listen to former Nagaland Chief Minister S. C. Jamir, who once served as Parliamentary Secretary to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, as he explains the difference between Nehru and PM Modi. "Panditji was a philosopher, Modi ji is a practical man." Jamir highlights PM Modi's direct approach, accessibility, focus on the Northeast, economic reforms, and progress in the Naga peace process, calling the scale of development in the region unprecedented. #LongestServingElectedPMModi

When a former Prime Minister speaks, the nation listens. H.D. Deve Gowda ji’s article on Prime Minister Modi becoming India’s longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister is not merely about a record. It is a reflection on how India’s democracy has evolved and matured. He notes that Prime Minister Modi has achieved this milestone in a far more competitive, scrutinised and demanding political environment than ever before. From governing a nation of 140 crore people to facing relentless public scrutiny in the age of social media, every day in office is earned through performance and public trust. Particularly noteworthy is Deve Gowda ji’s observation that Prime Minister Modi has expanded representation in governance, strengthened women’s participation, remained uncompromising in protecting India’s national interests, and stayed deeply connected with people across every section of society. His concluding remark is perhaps the most profound: “Modi is successful because he has remained reflective. He has kept himself open to constant scrutiny.” A remarkable tribute from a veteran statesman who has witnessed India’s political journey from close quarters. The people of India have renewed their faith in Prime Minister Modi time and again. This historic milestone is a testament to that enduring trust. #12YearsOfSeva

#12YearsOfSeva
