Back from a productive visit to Palau, deepening cooperation in public infrastructure, health, agriculture, aquaculture, & law enforcement, plus a day of 🤿😻. What a beautiful country!
37 years ago, brave young souls rose up in Tiananmen Square. Today, their legacy reminds us: a truly great nation has the courage to face its history, embrace different voices, and protect the inalienable right to dream. Taiwan will always stand with those striving for freedom.
Amid the stresses of global geopolitics, some good news of warmth & culture from Taiwan, as the book Taiwan Travelogue wins another major international literature award. Congratulations to both author Yang Shuang-zi & translator Lin King. ❤️🎊
Honored to welcome mi amigo @SantiPenap of Paraguay back to Taiwan. I've always been impressed by his action-oriented diligence & passion for serving the people of Paraguay. & So thankful for his principled partnership with Taiwan.
Just had a productive meeting with @UKinTaiwan Rep Ruth Bradley-Jones about the growing cooperation between Taiwan & the UK. Exchanged bear souvenirs with a nice message of the day from her: May the UK force be with you. #May4#StarWars 💪
Upon arriving in #Eswatini, we began a full program of engagements, including a bilateral meeting with His Majesty King Mswati III & the signing of a joint communiqué. From cultivating crops to enhanced trade, our cooperation continues to highlight #Taiwan's global contributions.
His Majesty King Mswati III today warmly received H.E. President @ChingteLai of the Republic of China (Taiwan) at Mandvulo Grand Hall. President Lai's visit reaffirms the longstanding friendship and strong diplomatic ties that exist between Eswatini and Taiwan.
Sanibonani! I arrived in #Eswatini today to affirm our longstanding friendship. #Taiwan will never be deterred by external pressures. Our resolve & commitment are underpinned by the understanding that Taiwan will continue to engage with the world—no matter the challenges faced.
Shocked and gravely concerned to hear about the gunshots fired at the White House Correspondents’ Gala. We are relieved to hear that President Trump and other attendees remain safe from physical harm and we strongly condemn any form of political violence.
I thank IPAC & many friends who have supported Taiwan's freedom to engage with other members of the international community. We need to reject China's expanding toolbox of coercion aimed at suppressing & isolating Taiwan.
It is not for Beijing to determine the foreign policy of other countries.
各國有權自主決定外交方針,北京無權置喙。
IPAC stands with President Lai and the people of Taiwan.
IPAC 堅定支持賴總統與台灣人民。
So honored to welcome astronaut Dr. Kjiell Lindgren. Born in Taiwan and raised in UK, he has conducted a number of missions to space, totalling 311 days. The photo he took of Taiwan from ISS is most unique and beautiful, to be cherished. 1/2
Though Dr. Lindgren is the first Taiwan born astronaut, I am sure there will be many more to come. Look forward to his tour here talking to students & public, inspiring the next generation of scientists & space enthusiasts.
China’s coercive actions undermine the status quo, once again exposing the risks authoritarian regimes pose to the international order. Ahead of my visit to Eswatini, several countries along our flight route abruptly revoked overflight clearance under pressure from China. 1/2
Taiwan overtook the UK in stock market value — making it the world's seventh largest — as tech firms regained favor. Read more: bloom.bg/4tklyc8

Congratulations to the astronauts and scientists of Team Artemis on this successful journey, bringing back to earth further scientific research & understanding of humans & the universe.
Welcome home Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy! 🫶
The Artemis II astronauts have splashed down at 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11), bringing their historic 10-day mission around the Moon to an end.
Today is the 47th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act. It has for almost five decades ensured Taiwan’s security and bolstered U.S. interests in the Indo-Pacific. The TRA still stands today as a bulwark against Chinese Communist Party aggression.
Pleased to meet with the @RepublicanStudy delegation led by National Security Task Force Chair @ZachNunn & thank the #US Congress for its staunch support. Pursuing peace through strength, #Taiwan will continue to enhance its self-defense & contribute to regional security.
Children's Day 4/4 in Taiwan. Proud to gift the first office staff baby of the year with a hand-knitted blanket. Glad to add this personal gesture on top of the child care policies to support to families with infants. Taiwan definitely needs more babies!
