With my job, I stay in a lot of hotels. But until I stayed at a @YotelHQ in DC, I've never had to file a complaint with a Consumer Protection Division. I was charged over $100 more than expected in hidden fees and taxes and they refuse to reverse the charges.
So, as someone who travels for a living and writes about accommodations and experiences, this is the first time I've ever been compelled to warn folks to avoid a chain for ripping me off.
My reservation confirmation clearly states that all fees and taxes have been paid. The clerk repeated that. But they charged me a "facility fee" for every day and then taxed that too. Speaking to a representative, they refuse to issue a refund no matter what.
One of the things I hated most was when I sent a pitch & it went into the electronic void. Was it a good pitch but the wrong time? Completely suck? How could I know?
I got over 200 pitches (& expected 30) from my call-out, but I can now say I've answered every single one. ๐ฅณ
Thanks for so many wonderful pitches everyone. Iโve been inundated with so many choices and mostly from women!!๐๐ฝ
Iโm going to hold off on accepting any more. The ones I wonโt use, Iโm passing along to the editors of our sister sites tho because 99% are fantastic.

I grew up being taught about the dignity of every human being. It shouldnโt take more than that to stand up and protect LGBTQ rights.
Thanks to @bilerico for this thoughtful conversation.

So, let me get this straight: yesterday the Supreme Court ruled colleges CANโT discriminate on the basis of race but today they ruled that a web designer CAN discriminate against the LGBTQ community? Sorry, but this Court is so freaking messed up.
liberalism has a habit of telling itself that when we solve a problem, its settled forever and the right wont bother to reopen that pandora's box. meanwhile the right is 24/7 focused on exploding pandora's box because they dont give a fuck.
