Kumio Kurachi's album "OPEN TODAY" is getting an overseas release on December 6th. Probably my favorite album released this year. All the voices and instruments are played by him (except a Mellotron on the first track).
Highly recommended.

Japanese singer-songwriter Kumio Kurachi with an excellently all-over-the-place album of freeform DIY pop, angular shenanigans and mystifying poetry, new via the excellent Bison label that’s also home to Still House Plants

The Wire 483 is out now! thewire.co.uk/issues/483
Still House Plants: London’s post-post punk trio use deconstructed songform to tap emotions others cannot reach. By Frances Morgan.
Plus: NikNak, Cheer-Accident, Kristin Hersh’s Jukebox, Lolina, FUJI||||||||||TA, and much more!
ALT The Wire 483 featuring Still House Plants. Cover photography by Amy Gwatkin.
Amidst the tasteful clamor of Still House Plants' 'If I don’t make it, I love u' is an equal sense of uncertainty and ecstasy: a navigation of intimacy one bold, imperfect step at a time.
It's our Album Of The Week: stereogum.com/2258555/album-…
On their third album, Still House Plants bring out the thrashy energy and emotional heft of their gigs, but without losing any of their angular charm.
If I don't make it, I love u is our Album of the Month

ALT Album cover for If I don't make it, I love u by Still House Plants. A blurry, abstract image in black, yellow and orange against a white background.
Cheers to @JenniferLAllan for including 'If i don't make it...' in this months Rum Music, alongside pal and colleague @ReganBowering's wicked Solos for _ _ _ _ Spaces
Super pleased to announce that Tom Mudd will complete the bill for the Still House Plants album launch show at Fairfield Working Men's Club on the 19th of April.
Tom will present his recent 'Guitar Cultures' work. A big highlight for us in 2023!

“When we played live [in the past] people have said it’s intense because of how much we stare at each other, that it feels very introverted,” Hickie-Kallenbach continues. “But this time we’re offering more.” -- nice interview with @PaddyClarke over on the Quietus!
