The upgrade gets you a bag of awesome opcodes, AND ensures your (unmodified) node doesn't stop working on May 15th. Just replace and restart, it only takes a couple minutes.

The BCHN 2026 upgrade preview build is here, with Bitwise, Function, Loops and Pay-to-Script! The relevant new features will activate on chipnet 2025/11/15, and barring unforseen problems, on mainnet 2026/5/15.

BCHN maintainers now consider VM Limits and BigInt CHIPs locked in by overwhelming community support. Our v28 release implementing these CHIPs will take a little longer, but Chipnet operators should upgrade to the prerelease version at download.bitcoincashnode.org…
