Let's not forget... this was ancestral knowledge forever.
Babies ate what families ate. Eggs, dairy, fish, peanuts, whatever was available. Then the credentialed priesthood showed up, told everyone to delay normal foods for years, and now we get a study saying, “Actually, early is better”
Cool. Glad science rediscovered grandma.
At this point in my life, any expert class connected to government food guidance, institutional nutrition, public health behavior management, or anything that tells entire populations how to eat, move, medicate, parent, sleep, or live gets a long shadow of doubt from me.
The machine is arrogant, slow to admit failure, and somehow never pays the bill when its guidance damages millions of families.
After the drastic change in guidance to no longer keep allergenic foods away from babies until 1 to 3 years of age and instead introduce them by 6 months of age, the prevalence of egg allergy among children fell by more than 17% in a new study published Monday in the journal JAMA Pediatrics.
