Regardless of how you feel about MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, director Travis Knight and star Nicholas Galitzine are not trying to be ironic or tongue-in-cheek. They are being sincere. And it's not on them if people don't believe it. slashfilm.com/2187392/master…

The YouTube-to-Horror Feature Filmmaker pipeline is very real, but we must acknowledge who has access to it in the first place. YouTube is not a democratized platform, and we're doing the next generation of creatives a disservice by pretending it is. slashfilm.com/2181604/backro…

. #Backrooms is a skin-crawling, liminal nightmare. Even if the existing web series works better for the seemingly infinite possibilities found in the world Parsons created, it's an arresting triumph and one of the strongest debuts in years. Full Review: slashfilm.com/2176810/backro…

.#MastersOfTheUniverse works as well as it does because Nicholas Galitzine can play both of these characters. Yes, he's also great in RWRB, but the spectrum between JEFF! and Prince Adam/He-Man in terms of masculine exploration is the crux here.

While I’m here, if you’re invited to a world premiere and you text in the theater the whole time, I actually hate you and I hope any articles you publish or content you make FLOPS.

I HAVE THE POWER to tell you that #MastersOfTheUniverse is what happens when you watch the cartoon, grab your action figures, & make your own adventure. An absolute blast, laugh out loud funny, and a Fisto-powered punch of heart. I loved it. Everything you could want.

Honored to share some pages with the absolute best in the biz and very, very proud to say that I have a piece about the transformative power of INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE: the book, the film, and the series.
Will you invite FANGORIA Presents: VAMPIRES inside? For lovers of ageless, blood-sucking casanovas and those curious about the undead legends of modern times, this 100-page collector’s edition chronicles the complete evolution of the vampire across… dlvr.it/TSWp9r

While #Backrooms ultimately works better as a series, Kane Parsons delivers a promising debut feature, firmly establishing himself as one to watch. I'm a sucker for liminal horror, and when BACKROOMS works, it's a waking nightmare. Easily the best creepypasta adaptation yet.

Anyone who has watched the web series knows that the true power of BACKROOMS is in its liminal limitlessness. Trying to lock an inherently sprawling narrative into a tight feature sometimes makes the film feel like it's fighting against its own destiny. Still really dug it.

I spoke with @samreich to learn how fans will be able to bring home a game where, famously, "The only way to learn is by playing. The only way to win is by learning, and the only way to begin is by beginning." GAME CHANGER: HOME EDITION IS COMING! slashfilm.com/2164326/dropou…

I live for Rorschach Test movies like THE SAVIORS. True to the spirit of classic speculative storytelling, the film intentionally withholds clear answers until its closing moments, allowing tension & ambiguity to linger with us long after the credits roll. slashfilm.com/2163158/the-sa…

If you follow me on IG, you know that I use the AMC Burbank 16 escalators like a horoscope for the movie I'm seeing that day. My own version of "bones or no bones day." Needless to say, this is the kind of investigative journalism I CRAVE!!!
Replying to @byalexzaragoza
The broken escalator at the AMC Burbank 16 is such a long-standing problem that if you go to Google Street View right now, this is what you find - service workers repairing it. Read my full investigation at LA Material: shorturl.at/TtOaq

While #TheDevilWearsPrada2 doesn’t reach the same heights as the original, it’s an enjoyable watch that gave me an existential crisis about the state of journalism and print media. Some solid jokes but nothing that will permeate culture like the first time around. I liked it!

Stanley Tucci remains the secret sauce as to why these movies work so well, and it was lovely to spend more time with these characters that I adore so much.

I was doxed and harassed for months because I wrote an article about THE GUEST being awesome. It was out the same weekend as TUSK, and deranged fanboys wrongfully assumed I was telling people not to see TUSK. People made accounts pretending to be me, so Twitter verified me.
Critics, which review have you gotten the most criticism/dissent for? Did it amuse you, were you scared? Or did it all feel inconsequential?

I truly genuinely don’t care what you think about the pitt but I do care that you know this: executives do not pay for articles like this and it is insane that anyone thinks that’s happening.
