Your mile time might matter more than your blood pressure, body weight, or your blood sugar. A recent study found that cardiovascular fitness is a better predictor of mortality risk than traditional risk factors such as smoking, hypertension, high cholesterol or Type 2 Diabetes

Injuries suck and everyone deals with them. Most people prolong an injury by not doing the hard work on the front end to get it to resolve as quickly as possible.

I just spent 20 minutes sipping hot water and thinking “This is not my best americano.”

You played sports in highschool, maybe even college. You got out of shape because work and life got in the way. You are 35 and start running to get back in shape. You go to the doc because your knees hurt. “It’s all that wear and tear.” SMH 🤦🏼‍♂️

Your life at 35 probably doesn’t look anything like that. You go to work, sit at a desk, try to play with your kids, and if you are a top 10 percenter maybe you even lift some weights.

Of course when you try to start running or join rec league basketball out of nowhere you have some issues. It’s not “all that wear and tear.” You just aren’t prepared.

How to sleep in 2024: 1. Charge your phone in the kitchen. 2. Turn the air down (colder than you think). 3. Make sure your room is dark. 4. Allow yourself 30 min - 1 hour to either talk to your spouse or read with only low lighting and no phones prior to bed. 5. Yes you can ⬆️

We know too much at this point about the benefits of strength training not to be trying to get loved ones, clients, anyone who trusts us to start lifting.

One habit that has dramatically impacted my family, business and personal wellbeing: - I put my phone on its charger in my kitchen before bed (ideally 30 min-1 hour before) - I don’t look at it again until I have finished my morning Bible reading and quiet time.

This stemmed from a book I went through with my men’s group over the past couple of months. All of the habits were good but this combo of 2 habits is something I don’t think I will ever let go.

Getting really excited about hitting a 6 week bodybuilding program in the same day I am telling people I am going to enter the lottery for the Leadville 100 (miles long) mountain bike race. I guess I’m trying to be the king of getting ok at everything.

Just realized I will get to cold plunge in the dark more starting tomorrow. Woohoo

I just learn more and more how much I don’t know. And how simple a lot of the stuff I didn’t know is. It’s a weird thing.
