"GAMING IS GOING WOKE" is an extremely large cope when put under a microscope. Let's take a look: 1. Not replaced, "there will always be Kratos games" according to Cory Barlog. 2. Ciri was always the most important character in the Witcher franchise. If this upsets you, you likely don't love The Witcher, you love the macho womanizer you turned Geralt into during your playthrough. 3. Joel had one game. Expecting him to be the hero of a franchise was always incredibly unrealistic if you actually played The Last of Us. 4. Again, one game. Additionally, this is not a sequential franchise. The setting, struggle, and protagonist is probably going to change in every title. 5. I've literally never seen someone legitimately complain about Chloe. Also, her story was an expansion for A Thief's End. 6. Zagreus is a queer character. This is not the win *those* people think it is and reeks of tourism. 7. Literally everyone and their mother wanted this game. Pretend outrage and a massive reach.

AI is so popular because it gives uncreative people the illusion that they are creative. It lets them skip right to the part where they get validation. It’s not only parasitic, but extremely narcissistic.

It was incredibly difficult to narrow things down to such a small percentage of applicants out of the hundreds we received. To the genuine artists who didn't make it this round: please don't be discouraged, and feel free to reapply when new openings come up. That said, if you’re trying to play pretend with an AI-generated portfolio... just don't. You aren't fooling anyone, and it’s a waste of everyone's time. 🫩

The most important aspect of concept art is gathering information, references and letting your creativity flow through creating your own iterations BY HAND. I can tell a lot of the times when someone used an AI reference in their process. It still poisons the process. On top of that, the time it takes to correct the shitty references AI outputs could’ve been used towards actually doing it yourself from scratch and it also would’ve turned out better. It’s pointless.

It’s crazy to me that people don’t realize that everything they use in their day to day life has been (and will continue to be) designed by an artist. From the clothes you wear, to your chair, your car, tv shows, games, your phone, the apps on your phone etc. The same way you cannot comprehend having a world without jobs such as engineers, you also cannot have a world without artists. We aren’t going away anytime soon, nor is the demand for our services.
