Security alert for Blink users on iPhone:
DarkSword is a confirmed iOS exploit chain documented by Google Threat Intelligence. It targets iOS 18.4–18.7 via malicious websites — no app install required. Visiting a compromised page is enough to trigger full device compromise.

What's at risk: credentials, messages (including phone OTPs), and crypto wallet data are explicitly targeted. For Blink users, OTP interception is the key concern. Note: 2FA does not protect you on a compromised device — the attacker can read codes in real time.

Action: Update your iPhone to iOS 18.7.3 or iOS 26.3 or later.
If you can't update, enable Lockdown Mode in Settings.
Avoid clicking unfamiliar links — delivery is browser-based.

Blink is blocking the npm-attacker's addresses, so even in the case of a malicious address swap by a compromised app, Blink users will be protected from sending funds to the attacker's addresses.

Software and dependency code being open source helps with discovery of attacks like these in a general way because it enables more eyes on code. It is not a sufficient protection of Blink in particular or against this attack's execution in particular.
For protection of Blink users in particular, we blocked the attacker's on-chain addresses from being processed in Blink, in addition to our security protocols that prevented the use of malicious dependencies, as well as the choice of Blink not being web-based.
