there are also plenty of amazing otomes that don't utilize fate/soulmates/reincarnation too if you're looking for a story that ignores those concepts altogether

i personally find the concept as romantic as it is tragic but i can also totally understand the perspective that it could make the main story connections feel "forced" so it's really just a matter of preference

if it's not confirmed than all of this could be moot anyways 😭 all we know for sure is that the "immortality" achieved on philos is tentative and requires continuous sacrifice and, as we know from KoD, ends in suffering and tragedy regardless (11/12)
