Me when people who’ve spent years boasting about not paying any UK taxes say they want the British embassy to help evacuate them from Dubai.

Quite odd that Restore might end up letting in Burnham locally, who will then end up letting Reform win nationally because he will finish Labour off for good. Greens a total irrelevance, as they should be.

It will be the biggest calamity since Liz Truss. Labour has lost its mind.

Hard to believe that Labour has managed to return to its lifelong reputation, only ever shaken off by Blair & Brown, for being weak on defence, anti- entrepreneurship, pro spiralling welfare and at odds with aspiration. And it’s about to get worse. Entirely avoidable lunacy.

Ouch. @BarryGardiner nails it here. And the problem, as I keep saying, is Rachel Reeves…
"It would be ridiculous to put Dan Jarvis at the dispatch box next week." Labour MP Barry Gardiner says the Prime Minister will have to "revisit the maths" of the Defence Investment Plan after the resignations of John Healey and Al Carns. #Newsnight

This is the key paragraph of @AlistairCarns resignation letter: it's a different issue but one that everyone close to HMG knows - the processes of government are too slow for this conflict-engulfed world...

Reeves needs to go too. She ducks blame often but a lot of these terrible decisions originate in her Treasury. The government is done. Burnham will be even worse. What a waste of a stonking majority. They’re just not very good. We need a fresh start, and it’s not Labour.

This appears to be an admission by the Treasury that the Labour Party has given up on welfare reform and in fact is prioritising welfare over defence. Which has been evident for some time but is now explicit.

Critically urgent as we deal with war in Europe, conflict in the Middle East and a looming energy crisis. Tremendous work.

Terrible to see it has come to this for Liz Truss.
EXC. A woman was found wandering around Parliament in the middle of the night after she hid in a toilet at the end of a tour. An investigation is now under way amid claims that security guards were asleep on the job

I doubt Reform politicians and their media cheerleaders have the class to honour this dignified request.

But of course.
Turns out Suella Braverman(Reform MP) was Home Secretary & Robert Jenrick(Reform MP) was an immigration minister when the North Belfast attacker was granted a 5-year visa.

It was a one off horror that now happens ‘all the time’, or as normal people call it, twice in 13 years.

It’s as if he says things everyone else says about five years after everyone else has said them and people are all ‘Welcome, o great saviour, please lead us to the promised land’. It’s all very odd.
