Rwanda at night, 2013 → 2025. Over the same period, electricity access grew from ~19% to 82%. I built this map using real NOAA VIIRS satellite data, retrieved via Google Earth Engine, and animated it in Python. i am fascinated by this kind of data visualization and what it means for the future of impact reporting.

Kenya's President, William Ruto, warns that the African Union #AU is "not fit for purpose" and cannot steer the "continent into the future". “I can tell you without an iota of doubt that the African Union, as it is today, is not fit to provide the leadership that this continent needs going into the future. Therefore, there's need for the reforms of the African Union”.

On the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda, we mourn the victims & pay tribute to the survivors. We must learn from past failures & protect the living — by rejecting hatred, inflammatory rhetoric & incitement to violence.

In 2024, Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed and his wife enjoyed a morning run on Kigali’s iconic green track, a space designed to make fitness, dignity, and urban beauty accessible to everyone. Today, Ethiopia inaugurates its own world-class running track and sports park. A powerful reminder that when African nations inspire each other, we all rise.

I know I am always quick to criticize the AU or African presidents. But the AFCFTA is one of my favorite things to ever come out the AU. I strongly believe it is such a strong and groundbreaking agreement because it took so many years to be developed. They really studied and mapped it out very well Turning 55 fragmented markets into one economic giant: a single continental market for goods and services, essentially turning, is truly the Africa we want

The fact that 92-year-old Biya will declare himself the winner of the Cameroon presidential election doesn’t make it true. No polling-station data has been released by his party or by ELECAM to show where his numbers come from. Transparency starts at the ballot box. Tchiroma won and we have the proof to show it.
