UAE-backed RSF forces are on a total rampage
Satellite imagery shows large numbers of bodies lying in the streets & near the berm (an earthen wall the UAE-RSF created to entrap civilians). Those attempting to cross it were executed while trying to flee. The RSF is also carrying out door-to-door killings, targeting non-Arab communities.

🧵 The UK can’t call its arms licensing system ‘robust’ when UK-made components have been found in weapons used in Sudan. The United Arab Emirates is a known supplier of arms to conflict zones like Sudan and Libya. Yet, the UK kept approving arms sales.

There is an emergency press conference taking place right now (online) with NGO's about the situation in El Fasher. Pretty harrowing stuff. One person said what is happening in El Fasher in past 48 hours is akin to Rwanda 1994 in the scale of mass killings perpetrated by RSF against civilians.

"This morning new arrivals came in with clothes soaked in blood and torn by thorns from the desert along the way. Their condition is heartbreaking. Everyone here is deeply worried about El Fasher and those who couldn't leave. We have no information about them at all." Sudanese humanitarian worker to @Avaaz

People of El Fasher, those still alive after the past 24 hours of killing 18 months of UAE backed siege, need more than concerns from western governments. They need rescue from genocide. It’s time to turn all the screws on UAE to stop them before there is no one left to save.
Concerned about reports of significant RSF advances in El Fasher, Sudan. Vital that RSF and their political alliance, Ta’sis, do everything to honour their commitments to protect civilians, ensure safe passage and adhere to international humanitarian law. The world is watching.

The horrors in Darfur’s El-Fasher were no accident — they were the RSF's plan all along. The RSF has waged terror and committed unspeakable atrocities, genocide among them, against the Sudanese people. The RSF must be called what it is: a foreign terrorist organization and officially designated as one. America is not safer, secure or more prosperous with the RSF slaughtering thousands.

There is evidence the UAE backed RSF is engaged in mass murder in El-Fashar in Darfur. Why is the U.S. allowing the UAE - which we fund militarily - help the brutal RSF engage in mass atrocity? FYI - this isn't just about Trump - the Biden Admin was letting this happen too.
🚨HUMAN SECURITY EMERGENCY🚨 El-Fasher has fallen to RSF. HRL finds evidence of mass killings including door-to-door clearance operations and objects consistent with reported bodies on berm entrapping El-Fasher. #KeepEyesOnSudan 🛰️@AirbusSpace @Maxar medicine.yale.edu/lab/khoshn…

The escalating violence in Al Fasher, Sudan, is extremely dangerous for the estimated 130,000 children who remain trapped, surrounded by heavy fighting, relentless shelling, and critical shortages of food, safe water, and medicine. Children are at risk of being separated from their families, injured and exposed to continued grave violations of their rights. We urgently call for an immediate ceasefire and safe, unimpeded humanitarian access to all affected populations. Civilians, including children, must be protected at all times. Those who wish to move to safer areas must be guaranteed safe passage, in line with international humanitarian law. Those responsible for violations must be held to account.

The RSF would not be able to support itself without the support it gets from the UAE, which is functionally a U.S. client state. It is no surprise that the same actors supporting Israeli genocide in Palestine are supporting the same violence in Sudan. It is deeply connected.

Children are starving in Sudan’s el-Fasher amid 500 days of deadly attacks and drone strikes. Local rights groups say around 30 people die each day from hunger, violence or disease.

#Sudan: The UN Human Rights Office is receiving multiple, alarming reports that the Rapid Support Forces are carrying out atrocities, including summary executions, after seizing control of large parts of the besieged city of El Fasher, North Darfur & of Bara city in North Kordofan state in recent days. We need urgent, concrete action to protect civilians seeking safe passage from El Fasher and Bara in Sudan. States with influence must act to prevent atrocities by RSF and allied fighters; accountability is key. ohchr.org/en/press-releases/…

I’ve seen numerous videos I can’t share here showing RSF brutally massacring civilians attempting to flee El Fasher in North Darfur. Many warned this would happen if the RSF entered the city, yet it seems the world remains indifferent to the tragedy unfolding in Sudan 🇸🇩.
As fighting intensifies in El Fasher and more civilians seek safety from the violence, the RSF must act now to protect civilians and prevent further suffering. We call on RSF leaders to continue to issue and publicly communicate clear orders to their forces to ensure the safety of civilians, humanitarian personnel, and aid operations. Humanitarian corridors must be opened immediately to allow civilians to reach areas of safety. The world is watching El Fasher and the RSF’s actions with deep concern.

What is about to unfold in Al Fashir is a historic calamity and massacre that was allowed to happen in plain sight.
It is a painful day to be Sudanese. The sheer horrors unfolding in Al-Fashir and wanton killing marks the start of the janajweed regin in Darfur under Emarati patronage.

US sanctions against ICC officials—the Prosecutor, Deputy Prosecutors, and six judges—are not just a stain on this US administration and a flagrant attack on the international rule of law, but also a crime (an offence against the administration of justice) under the ICC Statute.
I also recalled that sanctions against ICC judges impacts those not only directly targeted but also on victims of the most grave crimes, legal academics and human rights practitioners whose work supports ICC investigations. They also have a secondary impact in the work of the ICC across all situations. (3/4)

Ethnic cleansing is underway in El Fasher as the RSF takes over. I spoke today with Sudanese civil society leaders about what they are seeing and hearing. It is grimly horrifying - exactly as long feared and predicted. Reminder (again) that the #UAE shares in these crimes. 🧵
