I've tried everything to automate content creation with AI, but it just doesn't work.
AI currently cannot write exactly like me.
(and maybe won't ever be able to)
Writing, in essence, is human experience and thoughts and emotions, all passed through an enormous lifetime context window (short term and long term memories), and influenced by an incredibly large set of emotional possibilities and personality traits.
I think this is why replicating legitimate human-sounding writing is so hard. It might even be impossible.
I've tried all kinds of things to try to replicate my voice, my writing style, my experience, my background, and synthesize it all into an incredible automated content creation machine. And I continue to fail miserably.
At first, I thought, "Oh, maybe I can just one-shot prompt my way to victory." lolol. Yeah, this didn't work.
It just wasn't good. AI writing is not the same as Bob writing.
So I went and identified a whole bunch of AI writing patterns and quirks, and I stripped it all out and rewrote those parts. But it still didn't have the kind of flair that I was looking for.
So I went even further. I downloaded an archive of all of my Twitter data and I gave it all to my AI agent. I told it to use that to pull out salient factors about my writing style. I wanted to know things about my tone and my vocabulary and my word choice and my sentence structure. The way that I talk about things and my belief system.
So now I have a whole bunch of Markdown files, the Bob Bodily profile markdown file, the belief system markdown file, and his core content pillars markdown file. I even did a really big analysis on what my writing looks like, what kind of sentence structure I use, what kinds of transitions I use, what kinds of vocabulary words I use, etc.
And THEN, I had it generate content using my content pillars, writing style, and belief system, and it was still bad...
So naturally I thought, "Well, maybe I'll just add another layer of LLMs on top of LLMs," (the more the merrier right?)
So now I have a review layer on top, and the review layer goes in after all of the content is created and it evaluates my content based on all of the criteria, and makes changes as needed. But you guessed it, still wasn't good enough.
I've been experimenting over the last couple of days with outputs from these models (if you haven't noticed it is because the posts were so bad that you never saw them because nobody engaged with them), but it has honestly been pretty painful and pretty terrible. It's just not good.
So now here I am writing this really long post all by myself as a normal human, just wishing that I could have gotten some AI agent to magic my way to automated content creation.
But in the end, I'm just a man, sitting in front of a keyboard, typing out my experience like a human from the early 2000's.
I don't know. Has anyone found a way to create legitimate human sounding content? And not just human sounding content, but in the style of a real human? I wan engaging content. Interesting content. Content that makes you think. Content that makes you want to be a better person. Motivating content. etc. Good narrative. Good prose. Good flow.
This is just a really hard problem, and I don't know if I'm ever going to get it to work.
