This is completely spot on.
Tell me why just last week, this guy who currently has the iPhone 16 Pro Max (256gb) asked me to go with him to swap it for the 17 Pro Max (new).
But after we got to the vendor, maybe because he saw people using the 17 pro max or wanting to get it, he decided he's just going to wait for the 18 series release instead, like tf?
It's just human nature to want something that stands out from the crowd.
that’s one of the reasons I don’t save up to buy things, I def know the price and the value would have decreased before i get the money completely.
i am an average and if I can afford it, billions of people can also.
but in reality, not that the value reduces but a-lots of people can now afford it and it seems very useless… example is (iPhone in Nigeria)

it applies not just to crypto but to other things too
when i want something and plan to get it
i save for it but if along the line the price of that stuff drops
it'll now look like it's quality dropped too and i'll go for more pricey ones lmao

One thing I've noticed about myself is that I don't really care about owning expensive things.
What attracts me is rarity.
The moment everyone starts using it, part of the appeal disappears. Not because the product got worse, but because what made it feel special is gone.
