Today, we witnessed something historic in Nigeria.
After more than two months of planning, construction, and dedication, Equipping The Persecuted, in partnership with Franc Utoo, unveiled the first full Christian-themed monument dedicated to persecuted Christians in Nigeria.
This memorial stands in Yelwata, Benue State, honoring the more than 270 men, women, and children who were brutally murdered during the June 13, 2025 Yelwata Massacre.
Their names have been permanently engraved into stone so that their lives will never be forgotten.
We built this monument because we refuse to allow history to be erased. We refuse to allow the suffering of persecuted Christians to be denied. This memorial stands as a lasting testimony to those who paid the ultimate price for their faith and as a reminder that the world must never look away.
Alongside the dedication ceremony, our team distributed much-needed humanitarian aid to survivors who are still living in displacement camps and struggling to rebuild their lives after this horrific tragedy.
To all of our supporters around the world: thank you. Your prayers, generosity, and partnership made this possible. Because of you, we can stand in solidarity with our persecuted brothers and sisters, provide hope to survivors, and ensure that the victims of Yelwata are remembered for generations to come.
May this memorial serve as a beacon of hope, a call to action, and a declaration that the lives of these victims mattered.
We will remember them.
