I got a Father’s Day message from my son that only #OnCinema fans can understand. He almost didn’t finish it as it all began to sink in…

A highlight of today’s #BCNET2023 was @iso_normalcy sharing his team’s impressive work building out UBC’s Learning Events and Learning Records Store implementation. Cool to see that learning tech development and capacity building is still a thing some places. And Jeff is so cool.

Maybe I will find the words to express how happy and relieved this news makes me feel. Or to express how much Brenna means to our team, and to me. I doubt I ever will.
But I will say that this is a very, very good day for TRU. It means a lot that Brenna has made her place here.
I may never be able to publish a proper roadtrip recap of the California/Oregon tour with @jimgroom, so for now a "Preamble, post-ramble."

Excited to see that TRU's Open Education Working Group application for ISP budget funding is moved for further review.
The idea is to take existing open infrastructure and expertise in learning design, resource development and to formalize it as the TRU Open Press.

"TRU Open Press is digital-first, differentiated by a commitment to unique and compelling knowledge mobilization strategies and expertise in the development of interactive media."
Check out the proposal here. It's open. That's how we roll. truopenpressplan.pressbooks.…
The proposal is put forward by TRU's Open Education Working Group, @TRUSU15, the Office of Indigenous Education, @TRULibrary, the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, and others.

Don't get me wrong... I have a lot of confidence in my team, and endless gratitude for their initiative and professionalism. And I have plenty of my own work to do...
But coming back after a couple weeks away my pleasure at how tidy things are is tinted with a touch of anxiety.
