This won't be obvious until it's obvious. No other chain (or any platform in web2) besides @ritualnet exists today that ensures an autonomous agent can't be taken down by any person, actor, or govt. Literally go fire one up, or try to take down an existing agent permanently. Increasingly, more models, agents, harnesses, etc. will be censored by govts worldwide as the AI world becomes more natively human-out-of-the-loop. Fable was just the beginning. Block space has become ~completely fungible over the cycles, and block space for agents on other chains @monad @megaeth @solana @ethereum @bittensor etc. has too. Don't have to take my word for it, go find any "agent" project on any of those chains and see if it can't be launched on another one. That's...not the case for @ritualnet, try it. Everyone's trying to surf the AI wave right now. Most of them are about to wipe out. Not because the wave's too big. Because they're on the wrong board. They take AI and bolt it onto infrastructure built for a completely different ocean - chains where every node reruns every transaction and checks they all match up. Great for sending tokens. Falls apart completely for AI. Run the same model on the same input across two honest machines and you get two different answers. GPU math isn't associative, and sampling is random on purpose. So "every node reruns it and confirms it matches" isn't even possible here. The board snaps in half. Ritual built a board for this exact wave. One node does the heavy compute, then the network verifies it instead of everyone re-running it. Big models get split into chunks, the proofs get handed out to different validator groups, and you dial verification up or down based on how much the result actually matters. Small stuff gets a quick check. Serious stuff climbs all the way up to ZK plus committee consensus before it counts as final. The part that actually clicked for me reading this: the reason you can't just run "AI on a normal chain" isn't only cost. It's that re-execution straight up doesn't work for inference. Two honest validators run the same model on the same input and get different outputs. Nobody cheated. GPU floating point isn't associative across hardware, and sampling is stochastic by design. So the whole "every node reruns the tx and checks it matches" model that secures every other chain just falls apart the second real AI is in the loop. That's the thing the lattice quietly solves that everyone skips past. Instead of execute-many-times you get execute-once, verify-many-times. One executor does the heavy compute, then verification gets split up: big models partitioned into chunks, proofs sharded out to different validator subsets, committees that specialize in specific model types. And you pick how hard you verify based on what's actually at stake. A low-stakes call gets an optimistic check or a TEE attestation. A high-stakes one climbs the stack to ZK plus committee consensus before anyone treats it as final. Most projects talk about verifiable AI like it's one switch you flip. It isn't. Different work needs different integrity guarantees, and building the chain around that fact instead of pretending one proof system fits everything is the actual hard part here. Was reading a paper last night about agents that rewrite their own skill docs. Like, the doc telling the agent how to do a task isn't static anymore. It gets edited, batch by batch, based on what worked and what failed. Failures get logged. Wins get reinforced. Over time the agent gets noticeably better at the thing. Sat with that for a while. It's a good idea. Probably the right direction. But it also broke something in my head. Because here's what nobody really talks about when they talk about self-improving agents: you have no idea what's actually inside the agent at any given moment. Not the company shipping it. Not the user using it. Sometimes not even the engineer who wrote the original spec. The agent today is not the agent yesterday. It's been silently rewriting itself based on inputs you can't see. That's fine when it's a chatbot helping you draft an email. That's a problem when it's the agent managing your wallet. That's a real problem when it's the agent making decisions for millions of people. We're heading into a world where AI agents do actual things. Move money. Sign contracts. Vote in DAOs. Trigger code. And the system underneath them is some closed-source binary that learns and shifts, and we're all just supposed to be like "yeah I'm sure it's still aligned, no biggie." This is the gap @ritualnet sits in. Not the "ChatGPT but onchain" caricature people draw. The real thing. Infrastructure for AI you can actually verify. The kind of system where, if an agent acts on your behalf, you can prove which version of its brain made the call. Where the inference itself is checkable. Where the training updates aren't taken on faith from a Slack channel at a company you've never been to. People hear "verifiable AI" and they yawn, because they think it means slower, or more expensive, or some academic curiosity. It's not that. It's the difference between trusting a stranger and trusting a receipt. Self-evolving agents are coming. That's not in question. The only question is whether they evolve inside black boxes owned by five companies, or on rails anyone can audit. I know which side I want to be early on. Not financial advice. Every protocol shipping AI has the same sequence: the model runs offchain, the result comes back, the protocol acts on it. Separate steps, that may occur across multiple blocks, all with a gap between them. That gap leaks value, and it gets worse the more is at stake.
