The Muslim Women’s Network UK surveyed women before and after the riots. Before — 16% feared for their safety. After — 75%. Home Office figures show anti-Muslim hate crimes rose 19% last year. Muslims are the target of 44% of all religious hate crimes. Only 6% result in charges. The government’s Hate Crime Action Plan expired in 2020. No replacement has been published in six years. They let 3 women dressed in burqas strip off to the chants of “take it off” They let hate marches happen across the UK. Anti Islam murals across Northern Ireland. This isn’t an Islamic text, and the question shouldn’t have been addressed to Muslims specifically, but to Arabs or anyone who understands Arabic. It is a popular motivational quote and, even if the first half is covered, I suppose the full text translates as: “(Let your faith) be bigger than your fear.” Or it could just be just the second half. Arabic is a language like any other, spoken and understood by Muslims, Christians, atheists, and many others.

Unrelated to what has been ongoing in our arewa, but it’s really funny how people are quick to assume those from/living in the west, UK, America, Europe are generally bad in character, with focus on muslims in particular. Living in London for almost a year now, by Allah, i have seen sisters, well brought up, attended classes with them that cover their bodies even better than our sisters. Dont get me wrong, our muslim sisters in Nigeria cover absolutely well too, but you see these ones here, even thou in jeans and shirts, you’d hardly see their body shapes in those jeans, they wear baggies and even add an overall over or abaya depending on the season, you’d also never see their necks, talkmore of a cleavage. My point is, stop making generalizations and assuming you are the best brought up brother or sister simply coz u were brought up in Nigeria compared to those in the West, where systems are in place that monitors everything, including attending a party, many of them are most likely more decent than alot of ours, and yes i know environment would always play a role, but due to that again, debatable.
