Fantastic time at #Lifted2024 working alongside @jesgarrigan and John Warfel on a fun-filled Apple playground. Great things happening at Susquenita High School!
Looking forward to presenting alongside my friend and colleague @TERRANCESHEPLER at the PA Creativity Conference! We'll be sharing ways to enhance learning with the Everyone Can Create series through Apple. #SoaringwithTech
More recap from the quarter! I love a good jigsaw activity as it lets students take ownership of their own learning and work together to learn. Here, students worked in groups to learn about various characteristics of polynomial functions and their graphs. #SoaringwithTech
Forgot to take a photo, but such a fun time getting to introduce some of the amazing features of @canva with my colleagues today! Many said it was one of the best lunch and learns they've had. #BlackhawkPride#TechFromtheNest
Canva is continuing to blow my mind as it rolls out new features. Thanks to @manuelherrera33 for another great session! Looking forward to incorporating this with my students. #BlackhawkPride#Canva#TechFromtheNest
Great morning creating products with @ajjuliani based on the UN 2030 Goals. A crunch for time got us thinking quickly about how to best engage with one another.
I've been looking to use Canva more in my classroom this year and just discovered they have a free membership for educators that includes access to their premium content!

After a stellar week of working with @cehyde9 and other educators for Apple Professional Learning, I am amped to get back to work finding new ways to innovate and engage with my students! #4xADS#BlackhawkPride
Happy with how my affirmations board came out. Students can take what they need that day to remind themselves that they are smart, powerful, and unique. Ready for a new year! #BlackhawkPride#BackToSchool
Excellent presentation by @kheiladunkerly this morning at Susquenita SD. Was just what I needed to hear to be reminded of why I love teaching and how I can get excited for this new year.
Teachers,
RT this if it is impossible for you get your grading, planning, parent/guardian outreach and all other additional requirements (on top teaching) completed during your contractual hours.
Just curious.
Following the holiday break, I began exercising immediately when I get home from work and have also devoted a max of one hour per day to do work related things in the evening. I can't tell you how great a change that has had on my mindset and health in just one week.
In this new year, I've decided that I need to take care of myself better and identify better with my hobbies rather than my work. My job is not who I am. It's not who any of us are. We deserve time to experience the other things we love to do. I challenge you to try the same.
Teacher: I feel so exhausted all the time
Central Office: Have you tried yoga or running or meditation
Let’s stop telling teachers to do yoga and meditate (UNLESS that’s what they want and choose to do). Instead, let’s advocate for making teaching a sustainable career!
I struggled this year with student motivation which is admittedly understandable. However, what are some ways you try to build up intrinsic motivation in the classroom or what are some books that may give me ideas? #edchat
